Description

We’re expanding our team to add a Business Intelligence Data Analyst, who will help us gather, analyze
and report on all the data that informs our business strategy. As an experienced data analyst, you’ll
develop a deep understanding of available business data sources and work closely with internal
stakeholders and leadership to design and implement reporting and analytical solutions that provide
complex financial modeling, forecasting and data reports that meet our business needs. This data is used
to measure organizational performance and identify new opportunities for improvement in conjunction
with sharing what is going well. You collaborate well with internal and external teams and you have a
track record of defining and developing tools that help inform strategic guidance. You excel in dashboard
creation, data visualization and can communicate the data in a way that makes sense to non-technical
team members.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with department leaders to learn existing and establish new Key Performance Indicators
    and dashboards that present relevant and useful data

  • Provides analytical support to any or all divisions of the organization by mining data, conducting
    analysis, and interpreting results related to business needs

  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure data supports revenue collection and growth

  • Provide assistance with requests for non-standard reports and analysis

  • Develops methodologies and approaches to new tasks and projects through design and
    development of analytical models and reports

  • Prep data for reports and analysis

  • Support automated report distributions

  • Be responsible for the investigation of data issues, data validation, scalability, and connection to
    external reporting systems

  • Act as a data visualization and dashboarding expert

  • Be dedicated to creating quality reports and applications and accountable for doing whatever is
    vital towards that end

  • Test and verify data for completeness and accuracy

  • Documents business requirements and methods used to generate work output

  • Create ad hoc queries upon requests for data

  • Perform other duties as needed - this is a new role and as the company grows, the scope of the
    role may change over time


Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, computer science or related field3+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Keen analytical and problem solving skills

  • Proven ability to document business requirements

  • Solid oral and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of data mining tools and methods, including server reporting services (SPSS, Minitab,
    Tableau

  • Knowledge of analytic programming tools and methods (SAS, SQL, OLAP, Business Objects,
    Crystal)

  • Business sense and the ability to connect the data to strategic business decisions (finance,
    accounting, economics, risk management)

  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize assignments within multiple projects

  • Must be able to work with minimal direction and be very flexible to coordinate complex activities
    that are often subject to rapid or extensive changes

  • Demonstrated success with project management

  • Proven ability to perform difficult analytical tasks with minimal supervision

  • Having a curious mindset and solution-oriented approach
